Hi, I’m Filomena.

Even though I’m a therapist, I see myself as human first. I show up with warmth, honesty, and an easygoing yet direct approach that balances compassion with gentle accountability. This allows me to create a space that feels genuine and supportive, while staying true to who I am.

My hope is to support you in pushing back against the patterns that have been keeping you stuck, while helping you build trust in yourself and strengthen your connection to who you are. Together, we’ll work toward creating a life that feels meaningful and aligned with you, whatever that looks like.

Change and growth are rarely linear. They take patience, courage, and self-compassion, but they are possible. I believe this work is not about changing who you are, but about reconnecting with yourself and creating space for the life you want to live. It is about making choices guided by your values rather than old patterns, self-trust rather than self-doubt, and authenticity rather than expectations.

I specialize in supporting individuals recovering from eating disorders, disordered eating, and complicated relationships with food, body image, and/or exercise. I also work with a range of concerns that often exist alongside these struggles, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, perfectionism, and difficulties with self-worth and relationships.

Over time, certain ways of coping can quietly narrow your world and pull you away from what matters most to you. Together, we explore the role they have played, the needs they may have been trying to meet, and begin building new ways of navigating life with greater self-trust, connection, and compassion.

My work is informed by both professional and lived experience. For over 10 years, I’ve supported individuals across private practice, hospital, and community settings. I hold a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Toronto and am also certified as an Eating Disorder Recovery Coach through the Carolyn Costin Institute.

Outside of therapy, I’m a dog mom to Nala, and I love to dance. More than anything, dance reminds me that life isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about letting go, having fun, being present, and giving ourselves permission to not take everything so seriously all the time.

If this feels like the right fit, we can start exploring what it means to bite back and move toward the life you want
